Hydro-Excavation
Hydro-excavation is the safest and most efficient method of exposing underground utilities. To expose buried utilities, we use a unique combination or water pressure and vacuum combined in one self-contained mobile unit. Water is pressurized and injected into the ground thru a handheld wand to safely wash soil from the work area. The resulting slurry is then vacuumed from the excavation thru a large debris hose and placed in the mobile unit. Since it is a non-destructive process, hydro excavation eliminates the risk of damaging buried utilities inherent with conventional mechanical methods. Not only is it faster and more accurate, but also does less damage to the surrounding soil than mechanical excavation and thus minimizes site restoration time and expense. In instances where utility lines are mismarked or their location is unknown, using traditional excavation methods such as backhoes, or hand digging, can cause potential delays, safety hazards, and service interruptions. Hydro-excavation can quickly and safely expose utility lines without these risks. Pipes can then be installed parallel or across existing lines, repairs made to existing lines, or new utility lines installed without safety or service concerns.
